After a delayed start to the game due to a mix up with the umpires the game started strong for Romford ladies. Three minutes into the game Emma James score a wonderful goal from open play putting Romford ahead. Lorraine Curtis scored from a penalty flick in the 15th minute followed by a technical own goal by Basildon but from a great hit from Emma James. Which put Romford 3 nil up at the break.
The 2nd half started strong with the majority of play in Basildons half.
Basildon came back with two goals, one from open play and one from a penalty flick right at the end of the game. Romford attacked on multiple occasions and some great link up play with Emma and Sonata. Lorraine Curtis was awarded women of the match for her relentless energy through the game.
Overall a deserved win for Romford and a great team effort from all in the team. And coach didn’t get a card!
