Womens 1st XI vs Upminster 3

Romford Ladies faced a chilly yet sunny day, ideal hockey conditions. With the initial push back, Sonata and Emma spearheaded the attack against Upminster. The forwards displayed adept ball control around Upminster's defense, embodying the coach's mantra to "learn to love the ball."

Katie played well holding the middle, supporting the defenders and the attacking play and distributed the ball well.

Upminster had a 1-1 with Lisa, lisa kicked the ball away and took out the player lead to the umpires awarded  Upminster another short corner.

Lorraine's precise pass to Sonata set the stage for a remarkable play – Sonata to Emma, who struck the ball into the net on the right post, securing a lead.

The first half we were playing very central game, so after half time discussion with coach we shifted our focus to play the ball out wide more. Lucy and Lorraine received great passes from the defence and did some lovely runs to the base line working in pairs with the forwards.

The momentum continued as Sonata received a brilliant ball from Kemi, contributing to another impressive goal,

Upminster's had a few short corners but Romford defended well. In the final 10 minutes, Upminster were attacking hard eager for another goal but Romford's defence remained strong. h

The match embodied spirited competition, and standout performances from Romford's players. A great 2-1 win
