Womens 1st XI vs Southend 2

Thankfully the pitch didn't let us down, game on. Romford started brightly and with lots of possession and everyone in warrior mode a fabulous goal came from Emma with a lovely assist from Sonata. With Romford still very much in control the next goal was not far off, with some stops in the D from the southend gk, Loz stepped in with a lovely reactive goal which was perfectly placed from a tight angle. With a solid defence shutting all doors, we had a good halftime team talk from coach and it was back to business, Southend took full advantage of a short corner and converted, Romford brushed themselves down and went up the other end and with a superb goal from Emma again made the scoreline more comfortable. Southend took advantage again of a short corner, with Romford trying something different and deciding that's not working, Southend got a second, unperturbed by this Romford worked the ball well up the pitch, and with a Sonata strike and Ellie helping it in the match finished 4-2. This was a good performance by the team and with Abbie s and Loz showing their versatility in playing different positions, great to get more goals on the board, Emma for scoring a brace and Sonata receiving a well earm MOM for her constant hard work in and around the D.. Good effort by all.
