True hockey season weather was upon us on Saturday with a nice bout of rain before the game.
From the starting whistle Crostyx attacked strongly and in numbers which caused an unsettled period for Romford but, the defence of Nat, Grace and Abbie held strong and goalkeeper and man of the match Lisa pulled off some amazing saves to deny Crostyx.
After a tough 27mins, Crostyx broke the deadlock when a lapse in concentration allowed the attack to penetrate the D to slot a goal home from close range. Not to be deterred, Romford rallied hard and the attack of Greta, Ellie and Sonata supported by the midfield of Abbie, Katie, Lorraine and Kemi caught Crostyx on the back foot and after some persistance, Sonata was able to slot home an equaliser
Goalkeeper Lisa continued to pull off some fantastic saves in the second half and Romford battled hard against the strong Crostyx attacks to deny them a winner.
The team dug deep and counter attacked many times but were also unable to produce a winning goal. The game ended a draw and with an injured umpire showing the determination and hard work put in to everyone.
Romford continue their undefeated start to the season
