So the first game of the new M1 era. We turned up with 9, due to a last minute unavailability, but Waltham Forest kindly lent us 2 players. The game started and Romford proved dominant in the early play. After about 15 minutes a 16-yard hit from Joolz Smith found Chris Burn inside their 23. His first shot was parried but he followed up the rebound and slotted home. Shortly after a great run down the right from Aaron Mifsud forced the keeper to confront him. Aaron slipped the ball across their D and Jim Venus made no mistake. Both sides had other attacks, but Romford had far more shots. 2-0 to Romford at half-time. The second half saw both teams mount attacks, but with fewer attempts on goal. Romford eventually added a third when borrowed player Alex beat their keeper at his near post. WF responded well and one of their attacks finally bore fruit. A missed clearance let them in and Ray Burn had no chance in the Romford goal. 3-1 to Romford at the final whistle. A very nice game, played in a great spirit. Romford will look to maintain both the spirit and the wins
